hundred and one, <strong>the</strong> Samaveda into a thousand and <strong>the</strong><br />
Atharvaveda into nine branches or S'akhas ; he also divided<br />
all <strong>the</strong> Puranas ; hence Vy&sa means Brahma, <strong>the</strong> creator.<br />
