The Mahabharata says: "All <strong>the</strong> luminaries in <strong>the</strong><br />

world, <strong>the</strong> three worlds, <strong>the</strong> protectors <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> worlds,<br />

<strong>the</strong> three Vedas, <strong>the</strong> three sacred fires, <strong>the</strong> five oblations<br />

(see Infra S'lo. 138) and all <strong>the</strong> Devas are <strong>the</strong> Son <strong>of</strong><br />

Devakl (Krishna)."<br />

990. The creator (Srashta).<br />

Of all worlds.<br />

991. The Lord <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Earth (Kshitwah).<br />

992. The destroyer <strong>of</strong> sins (PflpanSs'anah).<br />

When <strong>the</strong> son <strong>of</strong> Das'aratha (S'rl Rama) is praised,<br />

worshipped, meditated upon, remembered, he destroys all<br />

classes <strong>of</strong> sins. The Vriddhas'atatapa says: "Whatever<br />

sins are destroyed by <strong>the</strong> virtue <strong>of</strong> observing <strong>the</strong> vow <strong>of</strong><br />

fasting for a fortnight, <strong>the</strong> same is destroyed by <strong>the</strong> practice<br />

<strong>of</strong> a hundred Pranayamas. Whatever sins are removed by<br />

a thousand Pranayamas, are destroyed in a minute by<br />

meditation upon Hari." (S'lo. 119)<br />
