Chapter 4: Source Integrity Interfaces 94 There are three ways to apply a command to multiple members: Type Multiple Member Names You can enter two or more member names, separated by spaces, as the member component. For example, the command: si co -S project.pj prog.c brochur.toc brochur.idx checks out all three members. You can name as many members as you like on the command line (subject to the line length limitations of your operating system). NOTE Source Integrity commands do not span command shell line lengths. Use Wildcards Use wildcards in the member component. For example, the command: si ci -S c:\work\project.pj brochur.* checks in all members with the base name brochur and any extension. Specify a Member List A member list (specified with the -F member option) is a text file containing the names of the members a command should be applied to. For example, the command: si ci -S c:\work\project.pj -F flist.lst checks in all the members listed in the flist.lst file. Members named in the member element may have any level of path qualification. A member list is a text file containing a list of member names, with each name on a line by itself. When you pass a member list to Integrity Server, it reads the member names and applies the command to them in sequence. You can create a member list with any text editor by typing member names—one name per line—in a plain text file. Alternatively, you can compile a list of members with the find command and copy them to a text file. The find command is a standard UNIX utility and is available on Win32 based systems with MKS Toolkit. u s e r g u i d e
MKS Visual Difference Interface Application Window MKS Visual Difference Interface The MKS Visual Difference tool is a graphical application that allows you to compare a working file and a member revision, or two revisions. It offers two-way differencing of revisions where differences are highlighted for you. Similar to the Source Integrity application window, MKS Visual Difference contains a number of common features explained in this section. Title Bar The title bar is the uppermost component of the application window. On the left side, the title bar displays the name of the application and the member name. On the right side, the title bar displays the standard Windows buttons for minimizing, resizing, and closing the application window. 95
