Chapter 9: Viewing and Editing Member Histories and Revisions<br />

Although it can be used to show the contents of any revision in an archive,<br />

this command is typically used with the working file, since it provides a<br />

mechanism to open the member without leaving the Source Integrity<br />

application environment.<br />

A working file is a file that contains a working copy of a checked out<br />

revision. <strong>User</strong>s edit and change the working file, not the revision itself.<br />

Changes to the working file are added to the history (as a new revision)<br />

when the working file is checked in.<br />

To view a member’s working file or revision in the graphical user<br />

interface or Web interface<br />

1 With a Member History window open, select the working file or<br />

revision you want to view.<br />

2 Do one of the following:<br />

Select History > View Revision.<br />

Click .<br />

Promoting Revisions<br />

The member’s working file or revision is opened in your default editor<br />

or in the editor associated with the file’s extension.<br />

Normally, you promote a member’s revision (set its state) when you<br />

checkpoint its master project, but you can do so at any time.<br />

To promote a revision in the graphical user interface and Web<br />

interface<br />

1 With a Member History window open, select a revision to promote.<br />

2 Do one of the following:<br />

Select History > Promote.<br />

Click .<br />

The Promote Member dialog box appears.<br />
