Chapter 5: Project and Sandbox Operations
Working With Projects
Creating a
Project
110
When you are ready to place a related group of files under Source Integrity
control, the first step is to create a project. A project is a container for a
group of files that reside on the Integrity Server.
In addition to creating a project, you can import an existing project from an
earlier version of Source Integrity or, if a project is no longer active, you
may also want to drop the project from the Integrity Server.
This section provides the procedures for:
creating a project
importing a project
dropping a project
opening or viewing a project
creating a subproject
creating shared subprojects
When creating a project, you only create the project file. To add files, or
members to the project, you must create a sandbox that points to the project
and then add the project members through that sandbox.
You can create a project from the Registered Projects dialog box. With the
Registered Projects dialog box open, click Create (or select Create from the
shortcut menu), and the Specify Project to Create dialog box appears.
Specify the location for the project (by typing the path and file name, or
browsing), and specify a project name, then click OK. The project appears
in a Project window.
TIP
For suggested best practices on creating projects, see the Integrity Server
