PREFACE Who should read this guide Where to find additional information This guide is intended for a Sidewinder G2 administrator. You should read this guide if you are responsible for configuring and managing a Sidewinder G2 Security Appliance. This guide assumes you have: • A working knowledge of UNIX and Windows operating systems. • A basic understanding of system administration. • A working knowledge of the Internet and its associated terms and applications. • An understanding of networks and network terminology, including TCP/IP protocols. The Management Tools CD includes the Sidewinder G2 documentation in .pdf format. When you install the Management Tools on a Windows-based system, the documents are automatically loaded onto your hard drive. You can view them by selecting Start > Programs > Secure Computing > Sidewinder G2 3.0 Admin Console > Documentation. Note: To view Sidewinder G2 documents prior to installing the Windows-based tools, browse to the \Manuals directory on the Management Tools CD. xix
