Activating the Sidewinder G2 license
3 [Conditional] If you selected Remote Sidewinder or Local Sidewinder in the
previous step, do the following:
a [Remote Sidewinder only] In the IP address field, type the IP address of
the remote Sidewinder G2.
b [Remote Sidewinder only] In the Port field, type the port that will be used
to connect to the remote Sidewinder G2. The port number specified in
this field must match the port number used for the remote Sidewinder
G2.
Note: The Port field does not support port lists. The remote Sidewinder G2
must be listening on the specified port for the transfer to occur.
c [Remote Sidewinder only] In the Shared Sync Key field, enter a
synchronization key that you created when you configured the
synchronization server on the remote Sidewinder G2 (where the backup
resides). You can view the synchronization key for the synchronization
server by going to Services Configuration > Servers > Synchronization
> Configuration tab.
d In the Filename field, type the filename that the current configuration is
stored as on the Sidewinder G2 in the /var/backups/repository directory.
This is needed in case there are multiple configurations on your
Sidewinder G2.
4 To begin the restore process, click the Save. (If you selected the diskette
method, you will be prompted to insert a diskette into the Sidewinder G2
diskette drive.) The system will automatically reboot when the restore
process is complete.
In most cases, you will license your Sidewinder G2 and any licensed features
during the initial configuration process. When you initially connect to a
Sidewinder G2 using the Admin Console, a window appears displaying a list of
features that are currently licensed for that Sidewinder G2.
If you need to relicense or license a feature after initial configuration, you can
use this section to activate a license using the Admin Console.
Note: When the Sidewinder G2 is rebooted or shutdown, a record of who issued
the action is logged in the /var/log/messages file. This applies to a reboot or
shutdown issued from the Admin Console or by using the shutdown command.

for information on how the Sidewinder G2 enforces the host license limits.
