Activating the Sidewinder G2 license

Licensing from a Sidewinder G2 connected to the Internet
If you are working on a Sidewinder G2 that is connected to the Internet, you
can use the following general steps to provide the necessary information for
your company and obtain an activation key.
1 Locate the serial number for your Sidewinder G2. The serial number should
appear on your Activation Certificate.
2 In the Admin Console, enter your company and contact information in the
Firewall Administration > Firewall License > Contact and Company tabs.
The information you provide in each tab is submitted when you obtain your
activation key, and is used for technical support assistance. For details on
providing information in the Contact and Company tabs, see “Configuring
the Firewall License tabs” on page 58.
3 In the Admin Console, complete the information in the Firewall
Administration > Firewall License > Firewall tab. You will need the serial
number that you located in step 1.
4 Click Submit Data to receive your activation key. See “Entering information
on the Firewall tab” on page 60 for details on completing the information
and receiving your activation key.
5 Select Firewall Administration > System Shutdown and reboot the system
to the Operational kernel.
When your system reboots, your Sidewinder G2 software and any features
you licensed will be activated.
Licensing from a Sidewinder G2 on an isolated network
If you are on an isolated network and do not have access to the Secure
Computing activation server, you can request an activation key using the
following method.
1 Start an Admin Console management session.
2 On the Admin Console menu, select Firewall Administration -> Firewall
License.
3 Click the Firewall tab.
4 In the Serial Number field, verify that it shows the 16-digit serial number
located on the Activation Certificate or on your hardware platform.
