• For the HTTP Proxy field, enter the fully qualified host name or IP
address of your Sidewinder G2. For example,
SWG2name.example.com
• For the port field, enter 3128 or whatever port you configured for the
Web proxy server.
5 Click OK.
Internet Explorer 5.x/6.x
To configure Internet Explorer 5.x for the Web proxy server, do the following:
1 Start the Internet Explorer browser and select Tools > Internet Options.
2 Click the Connections tab.
3 Click LAN Settings.
4 Check the Use a Proxy Server box.
• For the Address field, enter the fully qualified host name or IP address
of your Sidewinder G2. For example, SWG2name.example.com
• For the Port field, enter 3128 or whatever port you configured for the
Web proxy server.
5 Click OK.
Netscape version 6.x/7.x
To configure Netscape 6.x/7.xfor the Web proxy server, do the following:
Important: As an administrator, be aware that some versions of Netscape will
remember the user ID and password after the browser is closed and will not reauthenticate
a user after the browser is restarted. This is a security concern when
multiple users share a workstation or do not lock their systems.
1 Start the Netscape browser and select Edit > Preferences.
2 Select the Advanced > Proxies category.
3 Select Manual proxy configuration.
4 Fill in the text boxes next to HTTP Proxy and Port as follows:
• For the HTTP Proxy field, enter the fully qualified host name or IP
address of your Sidewinder G2. For example,
SWG2name.example.com.
• For the Port field, enter 3128 (or whatever port you configured for the
Web proxy server).
5 Click OK.
