The Sidewinder G2 counts total hosts, not concurrent hosts. It is important to
understand the distinction. Assume you have a 25 host license. If you have 30
hosts, but only 20 are in use or online at any one time, you will still exceed the
license cap because the Sidewinder G2 will eventually detect a 26th host,
putting you over the limit.
Displaying and modifying the Host Enrollment List
To display and modify the contents of the Host Enrollment List using the Admin
Console, select Firewall Administration > Firewall License and click the
Enrollment List tab. In this window, you can do the following:
• View the number of hosts authorized by your current Sidewinder G2 license
in the Licensed host limit field. This is your host license “cap.”
• View the current number of hosts listed in the Number of hosts in
enrollment list field. This number is important because if it exceeds the
number of hosts authorized by the Sidewinder G2 license, you will be
considered to be in violation of your license cap. If you have an unrestricted
host license, the term Unlimited will appear in this field.
The Host Enrollment List is cleared automatically if you upgrade your protected
host license.
• Delete hosts from the Host Enrollment List by highlighting the host and
clicking Delete. To select multiple hosts to delete, hold the Shift key while
selecting the hosts.
Note: You can update the contents of the Host Enrollment List field by clicking
Refresh.
