Changing the FTP server response configuration
By default, Sidewinder G2 restricts which FTP servers responses it will accept.
Accepted FTP server response codes range from 100 to 599. To alter which
codes are accepted or to turn off server response checking, do the following:
Caution: Only experienced administrators should edit configuration files.
1 Log into the Sidewinder G2 and enter the following command to switch to
the admin role:
srole
2 Using a file editor, open /etc/sidewinder/proxy/pftp.conf.
3 If you want to turn off server response checking, find the following line:
validate_server_response[yes]
and change [yes] to [no].
4 If you want to limit which FTP server responses Sidewinder G2 accepts,
edit the following lines:
min_server_response_code[100]
max_server_response_code[599]
Valid values are between 000 and 999, and must be continuous.
5 Save your changes.
6 Restart the proxy to apply the changes by doing the following:
a List the burbs in which the ftp proxy is enabled by entering the following
command:
cf proxy ftp q
b Disable the ftp proxy in all burbs where it is enabled by entering the
following command for each burb name listed in the previous step:
cf proxy ftp disable protocol=tcp burb=burbname
c Enable the ftp proxy in the same burbs by using the following command:
cf proxy ftp enable protocol=tcp burb=burbname
The FTP proxy has now been restarted and is using the updated configuration
file.
