Configuring the e-mail settings
Chapter 20: IPS Attack and System Event Responses
Creating IPS attack responses
To view, add, modify, or delete the e-mail addresses that will receive alerts,
click Response Settings, in the IPS Attack Responses main window’s lowerright
corner. The following window appears:
Use this window to configure the e-mail address list that will receive alerts. For
every triggered attack response that is set to send an e-mail alert, each e-mail
address listed here will receive an alert. You can add, modify, or delete entries
by using the buttons described here:
• New — Click this button to define a new e-mail address to receive attack
alerts. See “About the E-mail Settings: New/Modify window” on page 571
for more details.
• Modify — Select an entry and click this button to modify an existing e-mail
address. See “About the E-mail Settings: New/Modify window” on page 571
for more details.
• Delete — Select an entry and click this button to delete that e-mail address.
About the E-mail Settings: New/Modify window
This window allows you to add or modify an e-mail address for the list of e-mail
addresses to send an alert during an attack response. To change this list, do
the following:
1 In the E-mail address field, either type a new e-mail address or edit an
existing e-mail address.
2 Click OK to return to the Response Settings window.
3 Click OK on the Response Settings window to save your changes.
