Adding a Sidewinder G2 to the Admin Console
Before you can manage a Sidewinder G2 using the Admin Console, you must
first identify it in the Admin Console. Follow the steps below.
1 In the Admin Console window, click the

2 In the Name field, type a descriptive name for the Sidewinder G2 you are
adding. For example, you might specify the host name you used during the
installation process. Only alphanumeric characters and dashes can be
used; spaces are not allowed.
3 In the IP Address field, type the IP address you want to use to access the
Sidewinder G2. The address must be a valid IP address for an interface on
the Sidewinder G2. Also, the interface must be contained within a burb for
which remote administration has been enabled.
Tip: To view the current mapping of interfaces and burbs, use ifconfig -a
via the command line.
4 Click Add to save the information and exit this window. Each Sidewinder G2
you add is displayed in the Admin Console tree (in the left portion of the
window).
5 Click the appropriate icon listed under Firewalls. The properties appear in
the right portion of the window.
6 [Conditional] The Port field displays the default port number (9003) on
which the Sidewinder G2 will listen. You will generally not need to modify
this field.
