Configuring authentication services
To configure password authentication on the Sidewinder G2, in the Admin
Console select Services Configuration > Authentication, and click Configure
Password. The following window appears.
This window is used to configure password authentication on the Sidewinder
G2. Follow the steps below.
1 In the Login Prompt field, type the prompt text that you want to appear
when the Telnet proxy service prompts a user for his or her user name.
Note: The prompt you configure in this field is only used for the Telnet proxy
service, and only appears after an authentication attempt of this type has failed.
2 In the Password Prompt field, type the prompt text that you want to appear
when the Sidewinder G2 prompts a user for his or her password.
3 In the Expiration Message field, type the message you want to appear
when a user’s password has expired.
4 In the Password Expiration Timespan field, type the number of days the
password will be valid.
5 In the Minimum Password Length field, specify the minimum number of
characters that a password must contain.
6 Select one of the following:
• Allow simple passwords—Select this option if you do not want to
specify any other password requirements.
• Require complex passwords—Select this option to configure and
enforce complex password requirements.
