Generating reports using Sidewinder G2 Security Reporter
One method for generating and viewing reports of Sidewinder G2 audit output
is the Sidewinder G2 Security Reporter. Security Reporter (also known as
G2SR) provides more advanced reporting capabilities than what is available in
the Admin Console. Enhanced capabilities include:
• Generating reports for multiple Sidewinder G2 from a single user interface.
• Color-coded charts and graphs that are more user-friendly than text-only
reports.
• Reports are available in multiple languages.
• Reports can be accessed without logging into a Sidewinder G2. This is
particularly beneficial for companies that want to let auditors view reports
without giving them Sidewinder G2 administrator accounts.
To use Security Reporter, Sidewinder G2 must be configured to send its log
files in the Sidewinder Export Format (SEF). You can then transfer the audit
data to Security Reporter via a syslog server or FTP. The syslog server path is
shown in Figure 227. For information on sending Sidewinder G2 log files to a
syslog server, see “Redirecting audit output to a syslog server” on page 549.
