435 Edward Simmons <strong>Lewis</strong>, born Nov. 26, 1794<br />
in Philadelphia, Pa., was possessed <strong>of</strong> rare literary <strong>and</strong><br />
musical gifts, <strong>and</strong> contributed to Philadelphia periodicals.<br />
He lived at Washington, D. C., where he died Sept. 22,<br />
1829. He married Dec. 3, 1815, Susan Jean Washington,<br />
born Apr. 30, 1795, <strong>and</strong> died July 2, 1829, daughter<br />
<strong>of</strong> Lund <strong>and</strong> Susanna (Greyson) Washington.<br />
