to <strong>and</strong> among my Children in as Just <strong>and</strong> equal proportion<br />

as may be according to the direction <strong>of</strong> the law in such<br />

case made <strong>and</strong> provided, having a regard allwayes to what<br />

any <strong>of</strong> my Sons or Daughters have had formerly <strong>of</strong> my<br />

estate before my decease. And <strong>of</strong> t<strong>his</strong> my Last Will<br />

& Testament I constitute <strong>and</strong> ordain my Beloved wife Hannah<br />

<strong>Lewis</strong> my sole Executrix Hereby making null & voydd<br />

all other <strong>and</strong> former Wills Legacies or Executors by me in<br />

any wise before t<strong>his</strong> time named willed or bequeathed <strong>and</strong><br />

in Testimony here<strong>of</strong> I Thomas <strong>Lewis</strong> have hereunto sett<br />

my h<strong>and</strong> <strong>and</strong> fixed my seal the Eleventh day <strong>of</strong> August,<br />

A. D. 1708. Thomas <strong>Lewis</strong> [Seal]"<br />

<strong>Lewis</strong>.<br />

The widow Hannah <strong>Lewis</strong> sold, April 22, 1710, to<br />

Nath 1 Byfield, *' one half <strong>of</strong> the two acre lot <strong>of</strong> l<strong>and</strong><br />

where ye dwelling house now st<strong>and</strong>s being the eastern<br />

most half <strong>of</strong> those two acre lot with ye barn <strong>and</strong> house<br />

thereon '" bounded East on High St, South on Queen St.<br />

West by l<strong>and</strong> <strong>of</strong> said Thomas <strong>Lewis</strong>, being the other half,<br />

<strong>and</strong> northerly by l<strong>and</strong> <strong>of</strong> Nath'l Byfield. (Bristol Co.<br />

Deeds, Vol. 6, f. 174.)<br />

Thomas <strong>Lewis</strong> married, Nov. 11, 1659, Hannah, daughter<br />

<strong>of</strong> Edward <strong>and</strong> Joan Baker. They both died at Bris-<br />

tol, R. I., he dying April 26, 1709, aged about 76 years,<br />

<strong>and</strong> <strong>his</strong> widow following him in January, 1717.<br />

Mass.<br />

19. HANNAH, m. Jan. 22, 1683, George Morey. Their children,<br />

born in Bristol, R. I., were: (1) John, b. Oct. 3, 1684, who<br />

m., about 1700, Margaret Linsford, b. in Braintree, Feb. 6,<br />

1682-3, dau. <strong>of</strong> Edward <strong>and</strong> Hannah (Plumley) Lins-<br />

ford; (2) Mary, b. Mar. 24, 1687-8; (3) Sarah, b. Mar. 4,<br />

1690-1; (4) Hannah, b. Mar. 18, 1693-4; d. Dec., 1717; (5)<br />

George, b. Aug. 31, 1696; (6) Martha, b. Mar. 12, 1698-9;<br />

(7) Abigail, b. Feb. 27, 1701-2; (8) Benjamin, b. Apr. 18, 1705;<br />

(9) Thomas, b. Jan. 1, 1708-9.<br />

20. MART, b. 1663; d. Mar. 26, 1666.
