(Hovey) Frye <strong>of</strong> Concord, Vt. He lived at West Concord<br />

until June 30, 1882, when he removed to St. Johnsbury,<br />

He married, first, at Williamstown, April 3, 1817, Sally<br />

Smith <strong>of</strong> that place, who died June 12, 1833. He married,<br />

second, Mrs. Am<strong>and</strong>a (Wiggin) Lamphere. He married,<br />

third, in 1854, at Chelsea, Vt., Mrs. Eunice (Waldo)<br />

Davis, b. in Williamstown, Dec. 9, 1798, where she died,<br />

June 15, 1883, daughter <strong>of</strong> Anson <strong>and</strong> Mehitabel (Burroughs)<br />

Waldo. She roamed, first, Feb. 18, 1844, at<br />

Chelsea, Vt., Nathan Davis, who died in 1847.<br />

832. MARIA SALLY, m. Herbert P. Martin <strong>of</strong> Williamstown, Vt.,<br />

<strong>and</strong> had <strong>Lewis</strong> D., an osteopathic physician at Barre, Vt.<br />

833. LUCINDA MARIA, b. April 22, 1819; d., unm., Sept.10, 1844. She<br />

was a school teacher.<br />

834. CARLOS SMITH, b. Feb. 22, 1824; d. 1854. He was a teacher <strong>of</strong><br />

vocal music <strong>and</strong> a boatman on the great lakes. He married<br />

Jane M. Danley. No issue.<br />

835. ELAM CLARKE, b. March 16, 1826; attended public district<br />

school, Newbury Seminary, <strong>and</strong> Black River Academy. At<br />

the age <strong>of</strong> 23 he began the study <strong>of</strong> medicine, but disliking
