499 Frederick Augustus <strong>Lewis</strong>, born in Groton,<br />
Mass., Sept. 10, 1798, removed to Lancaster, Mass., in<br />
1816, <strong>and</strong> thence to Belfast, Me., in 1823, where he built<br />
a brick house on the corner <strong>of</strong> Church <strong>and</strong> Pine streets in<br />
1825, <strong>and</strong> engaged in various industries until 1848, when<br />
he was admitted to the bar. He died there Dec. 23, 1867.<br />
He married in Lancaster, Mass., Aug. 3 or 6, 1824 (3,<br />
Fisher Record ; 6, Family Record), Sally Fisher, born<br />
July 16, 1800, <strong>and</strong> died in Belfast, Oct. 25, 1878, daughter<br />
<strong>of</strong> Jacob <strong>and</strong> Nancy Carter <strong>of</strong> Lancaster, Mass.<br />
Children <strong>of</strong> Frederick A. <strong>and</strong> Sally <strong>Lewis</strong>, born in<br />
Belfast, Me.<br />
867. HENRIETTA, b. July 11, 1825; m., Sept. 8, 1868, Nathan Walker<br />
<strong>of</strong> Ellsworth, Me., son <strong>of</strong> Abel <strong>and</strong> Sally (Bowley) Walker<br />
<strong>of</strong> South Hope, Me. He was a surveyor <strong>and</strong> sheriff, <strong>and</strong> d.<br />
June 1, 1877; when <strong>his</strong> widow removed to Belfast. No<br />
issue.<br />
868. AUGUSTUS, b. May 16, 1827. He went to California July 9,<br />
1849; made one voyage to Oregon as mate <strong>of</strong> a ship, after<br />
which he was in government employ, boating on the bay <strong>and</strong><br />
river as pilot. Said to be living in San Francisco or San<br />
Jose in 1898, unm.<br />
869. JAMES, b. Feb. 24, 1829. He learned the printer's trade in<br />
Belfast, Me., <strong>and</strong> went into business in Boston, March, 1880,<br />
<strong>and</strong> removed to New Hampton, N. H., in 1887, where he<br />
still resides. He m. in Quincy, Mass., Nov. 26, 1860, Martha<br />
Hoyt Sanborn, b. in New Hampton, N. H., April 18, 1821,<br />
<strong>and</strong> d. in Boston, Apr. 22, 1887, daughter <strong>of</strong> John <strong>and</strong> Nancy<br />
(Sanborn) Sanborn <strong>of</strong> New Hampton, N. H. No issue.<br />
