which was made in London, Eng., in 1810, on the case <strong>of</strong><br />

which is engraved <strong>his</strong> gr<strong>and</strong>father's obituary <strong>and</strong> the<br />

names <strong>of</strong> <strong>his</strong> family. He lives in Dublin, Texas. He<br />

married, in Sullivan, 111., June 22, 1858, Cordelia Basha<br />

Elder, born near Sullivan, 111., Oct. 31, 1841, daughter <strong>of</strong><br />

James <strong>and</strong> Didama Elder, who were raised <strong>and</strong> married in<br />

Tennessee <strong>and</strong> moved to Illinois.<br />

687 Charles Dudley <strong>Lewis</strong> was born in Roxbury,<br />

Mass., Sept. 26, 1844, <strong>and</strong> died in Sherborn, Mass., May<br />

4, 1905. He served in the Mass, legislature for eight<br />

years from 1888, <strong>and</strong> was a member <strong>and</strong> treasurer <strong>of</strong> the<br />

State Democratic Committee <strong>and</strong> a member <strong>of</strong> the National<br />

Democratic Committee <strong>and</strong> also was well known in banking<br />

circles <strong>and</strong> among cattle dealers about the state. He married<br />

at Framingham, Mass., April 3, 1872, Emily Johonnot<br />

Clark, born in Framingham, Dec. 15, 1816, daughter<br />

<strong>of</strong> James Wilson <strong>and</strong> Catharine Monroe (March) Clark<br />

<strong>of</strong> Framingham.<br />
