Dwelling House & half an acre <strong>of</strong> l<strong>and</strong> lying on the northerly<br />

side <strong>of</strong> sd Dwelling house also one half my Barn.<br />

1 give unto my three sons, Amos <strong>Lewis</strong>, Thomas <strong>Lewis</strong><br />

& Nathaniel <strong>Lewis</strong> <strong>and</strong> unto their Heirs <strong>and</strong> Assigns forever<br />

the other half <strong>of</strong> my Estate both real <strong>and</strong> personal in<br />

equal Proportion.<br />

I give <strong>and</strong> bequeath unto my daughter Elizabeth John-<br />

son, the wife <strong>of</strong> Timothy Johnson, twenty four shillings<br />

yearly & every year to be paid her by my Executors out<br />

<strong>of</strong> my Estate so long as my Wife's Improvement continueth<br />

<strong>and</strong> at the end <strong>of</strong> my Wife's Improvement I Will,<br />

give & bequeath unto her children forty pounds to be<br />

paid unto her, if living, or her children if Providence so<br />

do order that she dieth before my Wife.<br />

After the Improvement <strong>of</strong> my Wife is ended, I give<br />

unto my sons Thomas & Nathaniel the west end <strong>of</strong> my<br />

House.<br />

I give <strong>and</strong> bequeath unto my three sons Amos, Thomas<br />

& Nathaniel the whole remaining part <strong>of</strong> my Estate both<br />

real <strong>and</strong> personal unto them, their Heirs <strong>and</strong> Assigns forever,<br />

to be equally divided betwixt them.<br />

Constitutes wife Elizabeth <strong>and</strong> son Amos as executors.<br />

Elizabeth <strong>Lewis</strong>, widow, <strong>of</strong> <strong>Lynn</strong>, <strong>and</strong> Thomas <strong>Lewis</strong> (87)<br />

<strong>of</strong> Boston, cordwainer, for X 12,750 (depreciated currency)<br />

conveyed to Jacob Newhall <strong>of</strong> <strong>Lynn</strong>, a farm <strong>of</strong> 120 acres<br />

in <strong>Lynn</strong>, also two lots <strong>of</strong> salt marsh, 7 acres, <strong>and</strong> 2 lots <strong>of</strong><br />

woodl<strong>and</strong>, 5 acres. (Essex Co. Deeds, Vol. 138, f. 51.)<br />

May 16, 1777, Ephraim Rhodes <strong>and</strong> wife Mary, conveyed<br />

to Thomas (87) <strong>and</strong> Nathaniel <strong>Lewis</strong> (88) <strong>of</strong> Plymouth<br />

<strong>and</strong> Amos <strong>Lewis</strong> (85) <strong>of</strong> <strong>Lynn</strong>, 5 acres l<strong>and</strong> in<br />

<strong>Lynn</strong>. (Essex Co. Deeds, Vol. 123, f. 278.) On July 19,<br />

1777, John Batt <strong>of</strong> <strong>Lynn</strong> for £186 conveyed to Amos<br />

<strong>Lewis</strong> (85) <strong>of</strong> <strong>Lynn</strong>, <strong>and</strong> Thomas (87) <strong>and</strong> Nathaniel<br />

<strong>Lewis</strong> (88) <strong>of</strong> Plymouth, 80 acres l<strong>and</strong> in <strong>Lynn</strong>, bounded<br />

on Amos, Thomas <strong>and</strong> Nathaniel <strong>Lewis</strong> <strong>and</strong> Thomas<br />

Stocker. (Essex Co. Deeds, Vol. 123, f. 278.)<br />

Thomas <strong>Lewis</strong> married Dec. 8, 1741, in <strong>Lynn</strong>, Elizabeth<br />

Carder. He was buried in <strong>Lynn</strong>, Nov. 12, 1774.<br />
