74 Joseph <strong>Lewis</strong>, horn in Woburn, Jan. 1, 1707,<br />

received 20 shil ings by <strong>his</strong> father's will <strong>and</strong> was an heir<br />

to Obadiah Jenkins, jr. receiving part <strong>of</strong> <strong>his</strong> father's share.<br />

He received £10 old tenor from <strong>his</strong> mother's will made<br />

June 13, 1757. She left all her residuary estate equally<br />

to <strong>his</strong> " children by <strong>his</strong> first wife, Lydia." He <strong>and</strong><br />

<strong>his</strong> wife were members <strong>of</strong> the church at Wilmington in<br />

1742.<br />

He married in Wilmington, Oct. 22, 1731, Lydia Pearson,<br />

probably daughter <strong>of</strong> Deacon Kendall Pearson.<br />

Children <strong>of</strong> Joseph <strong>and</strong> Lydia, born in Wilmington:<br />

in the army as Sergeant in Capt. Jonathan Butterfield's<br />

•There may have been other children <strong>and</strong> another wife. His mother's will<br />

mentions the children <strong>of</strong> <strong>his</strong> first wife Lydia, from which it may be inferred that<br />

he had another wife in 1757 when the will was made.
