494 Aaron <strong>Lewis</strong>, born in Bill erica, Mass., Dec.<br />

11, 1786, kept a hotel in Groton, Mass., on the great<br />

road, so-called, leading from Boston to Vermont. He was<br />

a lieutenant in the 9th regiment <strong>of</strong> Groton during the<br />

war <strong>of</strong> 1812-15, resigned <strong>and</strong> was released Sept. 1, 1814,<br />

<strong>and</strong> died in Groton, Oct. 9, 1849. He married Dec. 28,<br />

1814, Sarah Spaulding, born in Groton, Oct. 25, 1790,<br />

<strong>and</strong> died there Apr. 19, 1832, daughter <strong>of</strong> Oliver <strong>and</strong> Abigail<br />

(Hall) Spaulding <strong>of</strong> Groton, Mass.<br />

495 Levi <strong>Lewis</strong>, born in Billerica, Mass., Nov. 28,<br />

1788, lived in Groton until 1815, when he removed to<br />

Lancaster, Mass., where he kept the store in the North<br />

Village until <strong>his</strong> death, June ^8, 1839. He dealt quite<br />

extensively in l<strong>and</strong>s. He was a Justice <strong>of</strong> the Peace in<br />

1823, a member <strong>of</strong> the legislature in 1833. He left 10<br />

children under 21 years <strong>of</strong> age at <strong>his</strong> death. He married
