(Bailey) Shattuck <strong>of</strong> Shirley. He lived in Mason, N. H.,<br />

<strong>and</strong> Shirley, Mass. She m., 2d, Feb. 27, 1849, Joel Adams.<br />

Lived in Shirley. Five children.<br />

522. HARRIET ELIZABETH, b. Feb. 26, 1814; d. Feb. 4, 1894; m. Feb.<br />

6, 1838, Walter Fessenden <strong>of</strong> Townsend, Mass., b. in Groton,<br />

Mass.; d. Jan. 28, 1884; son <strong>of</strong> Benjamin <strong>and</strong> Lavinia (Stevens)<br />

Fessenden <strong>of</strong> Townsend. Lived in Townsend. Three<br />

children.<br />

born in Townsend, Mass., Sept. 14, 1786 ; died Sept. 8,<br />

1851. He left <strong>his</strong> wife <strong>and</strong> family, <strong>and</strong> nothing is known<br />

<strong>of</strong> him.<br />

247 Asa <strong>Lewis</strong>, born July 19, 1778, in Groton,<br />

Mass., <strong>and</strong> lived there during <strong>his</strong> life. He was a wheelwright<br />

by occupation, <strong>and</strong> died June 10, 1846. He married,<br />

first, Lucy Fletcher, born April 28, 1777, who died<br />

in Groton Sept. 29, 1835, daughter <strong>of</strong> Lieut. Ezekiel <strong>and</strong><br />

Bridget (Parker) Fletcher. He married, second, Martha,<br />

sister <strong>of</strong> <strong>his</strong> first wife, who died Feb. 4, 1856, 3d. 70<br />

years.
