I give <strong>and</strong> bequeath to Patience <strong>Lewis</strong>, my beloved<br />

wife, the use <strong>and</strong> improvement <strong>of</strong> all my real estate, except<br />

what I shall hereafter mention, until my son Joseph<br />

<strong>Lewis</strong> shall arrive at lawful age, <strong>and</strong> afterwards the use<br />

<strong>and</strong> improvement <strong>of</strong> one-half <strong>of</strong> my Real Estate as long<br />

as she remains my widow <strong>and</strong> no longer. I also give to my<br />

wife all my household goods <strong>and</strong> indoor movables, except<br />

what I shall otherwise dispose <strong>of</strong> ... as long as she is my<br />

widow. Also all the Provisions that I have by me at my<br />

death. What I have herein given to my said wife is in<br />

lieu <strong>of</strong> Rights or Thirds. If my wife Patience shall<br />

marry then I only give her one feather bed furniture, one<br />

riding horse, one cow, one set <strong>of</strong> copper plate, curtains,<br />

<strong>and</strong> my brass kettle.<br />

Item. I give to my son Joseph <strong>Lewis</strong> all my Real Es-<br />

tate except what I shall herein otherwise dispose <strong>of</strong> after<br />

the use & Improvement for the term that I have herein<br />

disposed <strong>of</strong> to my wife.<br />

Item. I give to my daughter Sarah Pearse in addition<br />

to what I have already given to her, one cow at my death<br />

<strong>and</strong> £20 in 3 years.<br />

Item. I give to my daughter Mary <strong>Lewis</strong> one cow at<br />

lawful age or marriage day <strong>and</strong> household goods <strong>and</strong> indoor<br />

movables to be equal to what 1 have given my daughter<br />

Sarah <strong>and</strong> £20 in 6 years, <strong>and</strong> use <strong>of</strong> my great chamber<br />

while single.<br />

Item. I give to my two daughters Sarah Pearse <strong>and</strong><br />

Mary <strong>Lewis</strong> a lot <strong>of</strong> l<strong>and</strong> equally, a lot I bought <strong>of</strong> mother<br />

Hannah <strong>Lewis</strong> late <strong>of</strong> Swansea deceased.<br />

Item. I give to my son Joseph <strong>Lewis</strong> my saddle <strong>and</strong><br />

bridle, desk <strong>and</strong> all my wearing apparel, with all farming<br />

tools <strong>and</strong> utensils. Finally, I give my said wife all my<br />

living stock that I haven't given away to enable her to pay<br />

the legacies, debts <strong>and</strong> charges, <strong>and</strong> lastly constitute <strong>and</strong><br />

ordain my wife Patience <strong>Lewis</strong> my sole Executrix.<br />
