4. Line Voltage For information about the line voltage connector or fuse replacement,<br />

Connector refer to Chapter 3, “Installation.”<br />

5. <strong>HP</strong>-IB Connector This is an IEEE 488.1-1987 connector for controlling the instrument<br />

via an external controller. For information about <strong>HP</strong>-IB operation of<br />

the instrument, refer to Chapter 2, “<strong>HP</strong>-1B Programming.”<br />

6. TIMEBASE ADJ Position one of this swit<strong>ch</strong> places the instrument in the timebase<br />

and Language adjustment mode. For the timebase adjustment procedure, refer to<br />

Swit<strong>ch</strong>es Chapter 7, “Adjustments. ”<br />

Position two of this swit<strong>ch</strong> allows you to set the language for remote<br />

programming to either <strong>HP</strong> 8656/57-compatible language (1) or to SCPI<br />

(0). The language swit<strong>ch</strong> is read once at power-up.<br />

7. External Pulse This connector provides the input for an external TTL signal whi<strong>ch</strong><br />

Input is used by the pulse modulator to modulate the RF signal off and on.<br />

This connector is on Option lE6 only.<br />
