Reading Information from the A3 Motherboard<br />

This is a safe way to view the information stored in the motherboard.<br />

You do not run the risk of accidentally downloading information to<br />

the motherboard.<br />

To read information from the A3 motherboard, follow these steps:<br />

1. Open the <strong>HP</strong><strong>8648</strong> Motherboard Utility by:<br />

For MS Windows version 3.x:<br />

a. Open the Program Manager window.<br />

b. Open the <strong>HP</strong> Service Support program group.<br />

c. Select the <strong>HP</strong><strong>8648</strong> Motherboard Utility icon.<br />

For MS Windows 95:<br />

a. Select Start.<br />

b. Select Programs.<br />

c. Select <strong>HP</strong> Service Support Software.<br />

d. Select <strong>HP</strong><strong>8648</strong> Motherboard Utility.<br />

2. When the User Information dialog box requesting a password is<br />

displayed (see Figure 7-73), leave the password box empty and<br />

select the Cancel button.
