3. The HP8648 Motherboard Repair Utility window is displayed so
that the instrument information can be edited and stored in the
motherboard. Refer to Figure 7-78. Edit the information in this
window to reflect the actual HP 8648 has been changed.

Enter the complete serial number of the
instrument that has been changed.
Select the model number of the instrument
that has been changed. Only one model
number may be selected.
For HP 8648B/C/D models only, enter the
last four digits of the All attenuator part
number and the five digits of the All
attenuator serial number. For HP 8648A,
these fields are given a default state of not
applicable (N/A) and may not be changed.
Select all options that are actually installed
in the instrument that has been changed.
More than one may be selected. Any
options that are not available with the
instrument model number selected are
grayed out and are not accessible. Select
the correct instrument model number
before selecting the options installed.
Selecting options that are not actually installed in the instrument will
cause erroneous information to be saved in motherboard and will
affect the instrument calibration.
