To select pulse modulation, press (AM) (PULSE) twice. If RF is on, the<br />

display will look like the following representation. The CMOD ON/OFF]<br />

key enables or disables the pulse modulator.<br />

When the instrument is in the pulse modulation mode, pulse<br />

modulation should be turned off using CMOD ON/OFF) before swit<strong>ch</strong>ing<br />

off the instrument. If the instrument is swit<strong>ch</strong>ed off while the pulse<br />

modulation mode is turned on, the instrument will power up with no<br />

RF output.<br />

The word PULSE is shown in the AMPLITUDE portion of the display<br />

when pulse modulation is enabled ([MOD ON/OFF]) and the RF is<br />

turned on (c-1). In this case, no RF will be present at the RF<br />

output unless a TTL-high signal is applied to the rear-panel PULSE IN<br />

connector.
