About the authors<br />

Dannae Cortés is currently postgraduate student in industrial design at<br />

the National Autonomous University of Mexico. She is currently conducting<br />

a research about biomimetics, specifically in the observation and inspiration<br />

in the natural systems for the design of services and object systems.<br />

Aura Rosalía Cruz Aburto is architect and current student of Industrial<br />

Design postgraduate studies at Universi<strong>da</strong>d Nacional Autónoma<br />

de México. Her research interests are the shared areas<br />

between architecture and industrial design by the point of view of<br />

different theoric and historic aspects as semiotic studies. She has<br />

collaborated in Mexico Ciu<strong>da</strong>d Futura book edition.<br />

Jani Galland is an Industrial Designer from U.N.A.M., focused on<br />

the study of ceramic objects. 10 years working with small ethnic<br />

craftsman and 5 years designing for an important porcelain firm<br />

in Mexico. She is actually working on her Master’s Design thesis<br />

about needs of Mexican Kitchen to<strong>da</strong>y.<br />

Marcela Pérez Bernal is an Industrial Designer from Monterrey Institute<br />

of Technology and Higher Education (ITESM) and a current<br />

student of the Master in Industrial Design at the U.N.A.M. in Mexico.<br />

Her research is centered on the relationship between design, culture<br />

and identity in the globalized world, specially from Mexico’s<br />

and Latin America’s perspective.<br />
