In Table 5 we have the error rate per student, in each<br />

ngp, in wbt <strong>errors</strong> <strong>an</strong>d in i rg ones, separately, because we<br />

also<br />

w<strong>an</strong>ted to verify whether <strong>students</strong> tended to produce one type <strong>of</strong><br />

error rather th<strong>an</strong> the other, as the number <strong>of</strong> structural elements<br />

increased.<br />

The number <strong>of</strong> words forming the ngps precedes the letters<br />

wg ; for inst<strong>an</strong>ce, 2wg me<strong>an</strong>s that we are referring to a two-word<br />

ngp. The table above presents the results from the two non-specific<br />

texts.<br />

In Table 5 we see that no error occurred in the only<br />

ngp formed <strong>by</strong> five words, <strong>an</strong>d that no ngp with six words was<br />

found in those two texts. This me<strong>an</strong>s that the correlation test<br />

is to be applied<br />

to 2wg, 3wg <strong>an</strong>d 4wg, only.<br />

Table 6 presents the number <strong>of</strong> wbt <strong>an</strong>d i rg <strong>errors</strong> <strong>made</strong><br />

<strong>by</strong> the Physics <strong>students</strong>, number <strong>of</strong> ngps in each text, <strong>an</strong>d the<br />

error rate per student, in each ngp, in ngps <strong>of</strong> two, three<br />

<strong>an</strong>d<br />

four words, in the specific<br />

texts.<br />

Table 6 shows no occurrence<br />

<strong>of</strong> 5wg, <strong>an</strong>d only one 6wg,<br />

where no wbt <strong>an</strong>d i_r£ <strong>errors</strong> were <strong>made</strong>. Thus, the<br />

correlation<br />

test is to be applied to ngps <strong>of</strong> two, three <strong>an</strong>d four words,<br />

only.<br />

Table 7 also presents the number <strong>of</strong> wbt <strong>an</strong>d irg <strong>errors</strong><br />

in ngps <strong>of</strong> two, three, four, five <strong>an</strong>d six words, the number<br />

<strong>of</strong><br />

ngps in each specific text tr<strong>an</strong>slated <strong>by</strong> the Nursing Group, <strong>an</strong>d<br />

i<br />

the error rate per student, in each ngp.
