The student completes a supervised practicum experience in a<br />
counseling or mental health setting under direct supervision. This<br />
experience consists <strong>of</strong> a minimum <strong>of</strong> 300 clinical contact hours. This<br />
experience must include at least 150 hours <strong>of</strong> direct clinical service<br />
with couples and families. <strong>Student</strong>s must complete at least two<br />
semesters <strong>of</strong> practicum at the 670-672 level.<br />

Final requirements <strong>of</strong> the program include:<br />

Integration Paper and Oral Examination (0 cr.)<br />
The integration paper and oral demonstrates the student’s ability to<br />
integrate his or her coursework, practicum, and other pr<strong>of</strong>essional<br />
experiences with a review <strong>of</strong> current pr<strong>of</strong>essional research literature <strong>of</strong><br />
the student’s choosing approved by the program director or clinical<br />
director. The oral examination is based upon the integration paper.<br />
Faculty<br />
The faculty members and advisers for the Marriage and Family Therapy<br />
programs have earned doctorate or master’s degrees. Faculty members<br />
are selected for their educational and pr<strong>of</strong>essional experience and<br />
expertise. All Marriage and Family Therapy faculty are expected to<br />
engage in clinical practice.
