Bachelor <strong>of</strong> Science in<br />
Human Resource Management<br />
The goal <strong>of</strong> the Bachelor <strong>of</strong> Science in Human Resources Management<br />
degree completion program is to prepare individuals with the human<br />
resources functional and management skills required to work effectively<br />
at a pr<strong>of</strong>essional level in a continually changing human resource<br />
environment. The program’s focus is on the development <strong>of</strong> individual<br />
skill sets at the operational level to prepare students for administrative,<br />
specialist, and generalist human resource functions and positions with<br />
an emphasis on becoming a valued partner within the organization.<br />
Program Outcomes<br />
Graduates <strong>of</strong> the Bachelor <strong>of</strong> Science in Human Resource Management<br />
program are expected to be able to do the following:<br />
1. Demonstrate the skill and knowledge necessary to perform human<br />
resource management.<br />
2. Identify various human resource initiatives in collaboration with<br />
departments throughout an organization.<br />
3. Develop and implement strategic human resource management<br />
initiatives.<br />
4. Display leadership skills in the management <strong>of</strong> human resource<br />
teams and work groups.<br />
5. Use technology in human resource management.<br />
6. Work effectively with diverse populations.<br />
7. Communicate effectively in a variety <strong>of</strong> modes.<br />
8. Demonstrate critical thinking skills.<br />
9. Identify the ethical implications <strong>of</strong> one’s actions and incorporate an<br />
ethical perspective into one’s work environment.<br />
10. Demonstrate the general education competencies.<br />
Degree Requirements<br />
A minimum <strong>of</strong> 122 credits is required for graduation with a bachelor <strong>of</strong><br />
science degree from <strong>Saint</strong> Mary’s <strong>University</strong>. All students must meet the<br />
general education credit requirements. A minimum <strong>of</strong> 36 credits is<br />
needed to complete the B.S. in Human Resource Management.<br />
