Sheets of paper and pens <strong>for</strong> each participant<br />

Instructions<br />

Explain that the activity will begin with individual reflection; people<br />

will have the opportunity later on to share their thoughts with others.<br />

Ask participants to think about one group with which they strongly<br />

identify, <strong>for</strong> example, their country, ethnic group, religious group, school<br />

or football club.<br />

Now ask participants to focus on conflicts in which that group has been<br />

involved. <strong>The</strong>y should try to list instances of their group:<br />

– having suffered at the hands of other groups<br />

– having caused other groups to suffer<br />
