Preparation<br />

Choose a photograph showing a reality or event that the participants are not<br />

necessarily familiar with. <strong>The</strong> picture should show something happening, people<br />

engaged in some activity, and ideally you will also have some background<br />

in<strong>for</strong>mation about the subject it represents. You can find good photographs<br />

of refugees and other marginalised groups at www.photovoice.org or<br />

www.unhcr.org/static/home/photosets.htm, or you can select something from<br />

a magazine or newspaper.<br />

Make four or five copies of the picture, or use an overhead projector, so that<br />

everyone can see it.<br />
