45-60 minutes
Preparation
Choose a photograph showing a reality or event that the participants are not
necessarily familiar with. The picture should show something happening, people
engaged in some activity, and ideally you will also have some background
information about the subject it represents. You can find good photographs
of refugees and other marginalised groups at www.photovoice.org or
www.unhcr.org/static/home/photosets.htm, or you can select something from
a magazine or newspaper.
Make four or five copies of the picture, or use an overhead projector, so that
everyone can see it.
