In addition to the ef<strong>for</strong>ts of various institutions, the partnerships between institutions<br />

increase the opportunities <strong>for</strong> <strong>Mediterranean</strong> <strong>youth</strong> <strong>work</strong>. One of these is the partnership<br />

of the Council of <strong>Euro</strong>pe (CoE) and the <strong>Euro</strong>pean Commission (EC). <strong>The</strong>se two<br />

institutions have signed a series of agreements to co-operate in the development<br />

of a coherent strategy in the field of <strong>youth</strong> <strong>training</strong>, <strong>youth</strong> research and <strong>youth</strong> policy<br />

co-operation. A specific aspect of this partnership, <strong>Euro</strong>-<strong>Mediterranean</strong> <strong>youth</strong><br />

co-operation has focused in the <strong>training</strong> of trainers and project leaders, human rights<br />

education, intercultural dialogue and <strong>youth</strong> policy co-operation. <strong>The</strong>se activities are<br />

done in co-operation with national partners and with other organisations active in the<br />

region, such as the SALTO <strong>Euro</strong>-Med Resource Centre, the <strong>Euro</strong>-Med Youth Plat<strong>for</strong>m,<br />

the <strong>Euro</strong>pean Youth Forum, the Anna Lindh Foundation <strong>for</strong> Dialogue between Cultures<br />

and the League of Arab States. One of the added values of the Partnership is to bring<br />

in a pan-<strong>Euro</strong>pean dimension to the issues (i.e. including virtually all <strong>Euro</strong>pean countries)<br />

and, similarly, to take into account experiences in <strong>Euro</strong>-Med <strong>youth</strong> <strong>work</strong> that go beyond<br />

the EU’s <strong>Euro</strong>-Med Youth Programme. 106<br />

To be able to provide educational tools and support <strong>for</strong> <strong>youth</strong> <strong>work</strong>ers and trainers<br />

in <strong>Euro</strong>-Med <strong>youth</strong> <strong>work</strong>, many activities have been organised within the frame<strong>work</strong><br />

of the Partnership. Seminars and <strong>training</strong> courses, especially on issues of common<br />

concern such as citizenship, intercultural learning and dialogue, human rights and<br />
