Mind mapping is a simple and powerful tool, a non-linear way of organising in<strong>for</strong>mation<br />

and a technique that allows the natural flow of ideas to be captured. <strong>The</strong> purpose is to<br />

cluster similar ideas, to see links between them and to pick out the most important issues,<br />

particularly when discussing or brainstorming. It is a good way of making sure that all aspects<br />

of a situation have been considered. Start with the central issue or question and branch<br />

outwards like a tree, extending to make sub-branches and even sub-sub-branches. You<br />
