Faculty Member Access to the Electronic Gradebook
Access is based upon the following criteria. These criteria are listed in the sequence in
which they are processed by the system.
Primary Instructors
All primary instructors for the selected term and CRN can enter grades.
Primary Instructor Checking works as follows.
• If Primary Instructor Checking has been set up on GTVSDAX, then only
instructors designated as primary in the Instructor window of the Schedule Form
(SSASECT) can enter grades.
• If no other checking is established, all instructors can view the grades entered to
date.
Non-primary Instructors
The ability to enter grades using the Electronic Gradebook pages is reserved for
instructors assigned to the class. You can further restrict this access to selected faculty
members based on attributes assigned on the Faculty Information Form (SIAINST).
Faculty Attribute Checking works as follows for non-primary instructors.
• If Primary Instructor Checking has not been set up on GTVSDAX and Faculty
Attribute Checking has been set up, the system searches the processes defined on
the Faculty Attribute/Advisor Type Control Form (SOAFAPC). If the
ENTERGRADES process has been defined, the system verifies the instructor’s
attributes against the process rules. (The instructor’s attributes are defined in the
Faculty Attribute Block of the Faculty Information Form [SIAINST].) If the
instructor meets the specified criteria, he or she can enter grades; otherwise, he or
she can only view grades.
• If no rules have been established on SOAFAPC and Faculty Attribute Checking
has been set up on GTVSDAX, all instructors can enter grades.
• If Faculty Attribute Checking has not been set up on GTVSDAX or if the instructor
does not have the specified attributes, he or she can only view grades.
Other Faculty Members
All active faculty members can view student grades, but they may be restricted as follows.
• If Faculty Attribute Checking has been set up on GTVSDAX, the system searches
the processes defined on the Faculty Attribute/Advisor Type Control Form
(SOAFAPC). If the DISPLAYGRADES process has been defined, the system
