<strong>City</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Wilmington</strong><br />

Sec. 18-197. CS, Commercial Services District.<br />

(a) Purpose. This <strong>district</strong> is established to accommodate a mixture <strong>of</strong> light<br />

manufacturing, wholesale, storage, commercial service and repair, and distributive<br />

business type uses. It functions as a supportive <strong>district</strong> to surrounding intensive<br />

industrial and commercial uses. The <strong>district</strong> is designed to locate near major<br />

transportation facilities (road, rail, air and port) and act as a transitional land use<br />

between intensive industrial and commercial development, and <strong>of</strong>fice and residential<br />

areas.<br />

(b) Site lighting. All new construction where exterior site lighting is provided<br />

shall observe the following limitations as to height:<br />

(1) Unrestricted lighting--Ten (10) feet.<br />

(2) 90-degree cut<strong>of</strong>f lighting--Fifteen (15) feet.<br />

In no case shall site lighting for new construction be located or installed so as to shine<br />

directly onto residential premises.<br />

(c) Uses Permitted by Right. The following uses are permitted by right in the<br />

commercial services <strong>district</strong>, provided that they meet all requirements <strong>of</strong> this section<br />

and all other applicable requirements established in these <strong>regulations</strong>:<br />

(1) Amusement and recreation services, indoor<br />

(2) Artists, commercial including silk screening<br />

(3) Assembly hall<br />

(4) Automobile and truck dealers, new and used<br />

(5) Automobile care center<br />

(6) Automobile parts and supply store<br />

(7) Automobile renting and leasing<br />

(8) Automobile repair shops<br />

(9) Automotive services, except repair and towing<br />

(10) Banking services<br />

(11) Building material dealers<br />

(12) Bus and taxi service<br />

(13) Business services<br />

(14) Candy and other confectionery products, manufacturing and warehousing<br />

(15) Carpet and upholstery cleaners (on customers premises)<br />

(16) Chimney and furnace cleaning<br />

(17) Clothing and other finished fabric products<br />

(18) Contractor’s <strong>of</strong>fice<br />

(19) Contractor’s storage lots<br />

(20) Contractor’s equipment and supply dealers and service<br />

(21) Convenience food stores<br />

(22) Divers, commercial<br />

(23) Drive-in theater<br />

(24) Electric motor repair shop<br />

(25) Electrical and electronic machinery, equipment and supplies<br />
