5) A discussion of the maximum expected area<br />

of influence surrounding the proposed well<br />

over the life of the scheme, including a<br />

discussion of any pressure gradients that<br />

exist as a result of past or current production<br />

or injection operations.<br />

6) Confirmation that all wells within the area<br />

of influence have been completed or<br />

ab<strong>and</strong>oned in such a manner that they will<br />

not provide a path <strong>for</strong> the migration of the<br />

injected fluid or substance to another<br />

<strong>for</strong>mation.<br />

<strong>Oil</strong>field or industrial waste fluids must not be<br />

disposed into a zone that has current<br />

production or the potential <strong>for</strong> future<br />

production.<br />

7) In the case of slurry fracture injection of<br />

s<strong>and</strong>, details of the surface elevation<br />

monitoring that will be done within 800 m<br />

of the proposed disposal well to monitor the<br />

impact of slurry fracture injection of s<strong>and</strong><br />

above the <strong>for</strong>mation fracture pressure.<br />

8) Injection logs <strong>and</strong> analysis in accordance<br />

with <strong>Directive</strong> 051.<br />

Confirmation of hydraulic isolation is<br />

required be<strong>for</strong>e the ERCB will issue an<br />

approval <strong>for</strong> waste disposal. This requirement<br />

differs from Class II-IV disposal because of a<br />

greater concern about waste contamination.<br />
