<strong>Oil</strong><br />

The baseline well density <strong>for</strong> oil is one well per pool per st<strong>and</strong>ard DSU, except that <strong>for</strong><br />

• the Mannville Group in Schedule 13A, the baseline well density is two wells per pool per<br />

st<strong>and</strong>ard DSU.<br />

The st<strong>and</strong>ard DSU size of one section <strong>for</strong> gas wells <strong>and</strong> one quarter section <strong>for</strong> oil wells<br />

remains the same regardless of the baseline well density.<br />

A block on l<strong>and</strong> containing multiple, contiguous DSUs of common ownership as defined in<br />

Section 1.020(2)(4) of the OGCR may be developed without a special well spacing approval,<br />

limited only by the st<strong>and</strong>ard target area on the external boundaries of that block of l<strong>and</strong>, as<br />

long as the baseline well density per DSU is not exceeded <strong>for</strong> that area or strata. Figures<br />

showing examples of development on multiple contiguous DSUs of common ownership can<br />

be found in Appendix L.<br />
