In case a "mans" meat doth not well digest, <strong>and</strong><br />

turneth to evil humour <strong>and</strong> to excrement, it is good<br />

for those " men " tliat " they " should spew, if it be<br />

not too uneasy to "him," irritate him to spew by a<br />

wort driniv. If there be extreme need that he may<br />

be able to spew before meat, let him manage that<br />

with sweetened wine. Let him flee the meats which<br />

work him mucus, <strong>and</strong> burnings, <strong>and</strong> heat in his inside,<br />

<strong>and</strong> which too readily digest : let him take those<br />

which work a good juice, <strong>and</strong> make the wamb nesh.<br />

At whiles it is good for him that one should give<br />

him light wort drinks, such as are aloes Avell prepared.<br />

The humour, if one doth not get rid <strong>of</strong> it,<br />

worketh not easily cured diseases, that is to say, foot<br />

pain, joint pain, loins pain ; <strong>and</strong> <strong>of</strong>ten a strong fever<br />

Cometh on the men who have that disease.<br />

shalt thou thus treat it, if thou wilt. Look to it every<br />
