jobs in <strong>the</strong> area, in <strong>the</strong> Salish Sea area. And <strong>the</strong>n also to<br />

study <strong>the</strong> jobs that are related. I go and buy my fish down in<br />

Slater Road, and what's going to happen to those people who are<br />

processing <strong>the</strong> fish? I want clean jobs, but <strong>the</strong>re's going to<br />

be a lot of people that are losing jobs because of <strong>the</strong><br />

contamination that this will cause.<br />

THE SPEAKER: Hello everyone. My name's Hea<strong>the</strong>r<br />

Chapin. I live in <strong>Bellingham</strong>. I care about <strong>the</strong> ability of all<br />

humanity to continue to live on this one earth that we have<br />

been given.<br />

So addressing <strong>the</strong> panel, I would like <strong>the</strong> EIS to scope<br />

<strong>the</strong> impact of coal mining on ground water and surface water<br />

pollution, CO2 emissions released <strong>from</strong> tree-cutting to mine,<br />

and <strong>the</strong> particulate emissions as it relates to mining itself.<br />

I would also like <strong>the</strong> EIS to scope <strong>the</strong> cumulative<br />

impact of rail transport <strong>from</strong> <strong>the</strong> Powder River Basin to <strong>the</strong><br />

west coast as it relates to coal dust pollution, economic<br />

impacts of increased train traffic through local towns along<br />

<strong>the</strong> way, levels of automobile pollution that will increase due<br />

to idling at railroad closings, <strong>the</strong> impacts to <strong>the</strong> biophony,
