COURT REPORTER: BETH DRUMMOND PROCEEDING DATE: October 27, 2012
THE SPEAKER: Hi. My name is Becky Campbell.
I'm a Bellingham resident, a wife, and I run a small
business in town.
I ask that a full and very extensive study be
done with respect to the coal trains, especially on health,
mental and physical, of our community.
This is significant for me because I have chronic
health issues, and I walk a very fine line of being able to
work and be a part of our community with a small business
and not working. And if I can't work because of health
issues, I would like a study to be done on the economic
to work; having to go on with a disability; having to be
paid for because they cannot work.
And I ask because it's very important because so
many people can get sick, and I'm one of them. And I know
many that can't be here today, that are in their homes
because they cannot come here, and you will definitely be
hearing from them.
And I also -- when it comes to reading quotes,
that I'm sure many of you have heard, and it says because
when we think of our survival, each new generation is
responsible to ensure the survival of the 7th generation.
This is important. These jobs might not be here
in our 7th generation, but we need to really look forward
