2 towards <strong>the</strong> needs of those all around <strong>the</strong> world. We see<br />

3 that our choices have serious implications around <strong>the</strong> world.<br />

4 The costs of <strong>the</strong> Gateway Pacific Terminal<br />

5 wouldn't be seen <strong>the</strong> first day when we extract that coal<br />

6 <strong>from</strong> <strong>the</strong> Powder River Basin. They wouldn't been seen,<br />

7 first, ei<strong>the</strong>r when we freight that coal to <strong>Bellingham</strong> or one<br />

8 of <strong>the</strong> port cities, proposed cities, and we ship that to<br />

9 China.<br />

10 It wouldn't even be seen when my children are<br />

11 growing up. It will be seen generations and generations to<br />

12 come. And <strong>the</strong>re's no way <strong>for</strong> us to focus just on <strong>the</strong><br />

13 community.<br />

14 But I urge you to look globally, to think of <strong>the</strong><br />

15 global implications and <strong>the</strong> contributions <strong>the</strong> Gateway<br />

16 Pacific Terminal will have <strong>for</strong> climate change on our globe<br />

17 because I believe if you look at <strong>the</strong> true costs of<br />

18 extracting, transporting, and burning that coal, you'll see<br />

19 that <strong>the</strong> costs and risks are entirely too high, and I urge<br />

20 you to please consider those implications. Thank you.<br />
