Providing support for a children’s school in Gütersloh was a<br />

particular priority for Johannes Mohn (picture from circa 1890)<br />

Mohn with son and successor Heinrich and grandson Hans-Heinrich<br />

“Der Christliche Erzähler” (The Christian Narrator),<br />

1927: The journal contained stories and serialized<br />

novels – this was the starting point for expanding<br />

the company’s range of publications<br />

At the same time they devoted their energies to church and civic aff airs for the benefi t of the community. Heinrich Mohn, the<br />

owner from 1921, modernized the company and began publishing fi ction in the late 1920s.<br />
