Th e entry into German commercial television two years earlier was an expression of a changing understanding of the media, and<br />

testament to the Group’s undiminished ability to take innovative entrepreneurial steps. Immediately after the fall of the Berlin<br />

Wall, Bertelsmann expanded to East Germany, with a Club branch opening in Dresden as early as December 1989.<br />
