SECTION 9: MITIGATION ACTION PLANSECTION 9 – MITIGATION ACTION PLAN44 CFR Requirement44 CFR Part 201.6(c)(3)(iii): The mitigation strategy shall include an action plan describing how the actionsidentified in paragraph (c)(2)(ii) of this section will be prioritized, implemented, and administered by the localjurisdiction.This section includes the listing of the mitigation actions proposed by Volusia County and itsparticipating jurisdictions and partners. It has been designed to achieve the mitigation goals andobjectives established in Section 8: Mitigation Strategy, and will be maintained on a regular basisaccording to the plan maintenance procedures established in Section 10: Plan Maintenance Procedures.As described in the previous section, the Mitigation Action Plan, or MAP, represents an unambiguousand functional plan for action. Each proposed mitigation action has been identified as an effectivemeasure (policy or project) to reduce hazard vulnerability for Volusia County.Most importantly, implementation mechanisms are provided for each action, including the designationof a lead agency or department responsible for implementing the action.
