SECTION 5: HAZARD PROFILES5.4.4 Probability of Future OccurrencesThe probability of occurrence for future lightning events in Volusia County is high. According to NOAA,Volusia County is located in an area of the country that experiences 8-16 lightning flashes per squarekilometer per year (approximately 20,224 to 40,448 flashes countywide per year).
