The meeting is open to the public and public participation is encouraged.The purpose of the countywide LMS is to identify strategies to reduce the impact of natural and manmadedisasters before they occur. The agenda for the Aug. 21 meeting includes a review of an update for VolusiaCounty’s five-year mitigation strategy. This update is required by the State of Florida Emergency ManagementDivision and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).A copy of the mitigation strategy is available for review at the Volusia County Emergency ManagementDivision, 49 Keyton Drive, Daytona Beach.
